Just Stop Oil activists have blocked the Dartford Crossing for a second day, following a protest in which two supporters threw soup at Vincent van Gogh’s Sunflowers, which is protected by glass, at the National Gallery.
Meanwhile, ministers are pressing ahead with a crackdown on protests, granting police further powers to take a more “proactive” approach on tactics used by environmental groups.
