London’s High Court recently ruled that a British teenager who was “tricked” into going to boarding school in Ghana by his parents should stay in the West African country until after his GCSEs.
His mother and father said they made the decision because they worried he was getting involved in “gang culture” in the UK and felt Ghana was the safest place for him.
We’re keen to hear from people over 18 who have had similar experiences and would be happy to talk about them. If you were sent to live with relatives abroad, or sent to school in a different country, how do you feel it impacted you? We’d also like to hear from parents who made the decision to send a child abroad.
