Telco denies hundreds of job cuts linked to AI adoption

Telstra plans to slash hundreds of jobs as part of an ongoing staff-shedding exercise, linking the cuts to its restructure of a division that strayed too far from the telco's core services.

The company has denied the job losses are related to its adoption of artificial intelligence and told workers it was proposing a net reduction of 550 roles.
