Teenager fighting for life after car hits loose horse as gardai shut section of motorway

A teenage boy is fighting for his life after a collision between the car he was driving and a loose horse.

It happened on the M8 motorway near Cahir, Co Tipperary shortly before midnight on Saturday.

The driver was seriously injured and taken to Cork University Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
