A teenager has been discharged from hospital after being shot by a gunman in Wavertree Botanic Gardens.
Merseyside Police has confirmed the teenager, whose age has not been revealed at this time, was shot several times at around 6.30pm on Friday, May 19. The force received a 999 call after reports of gunshots before a group of youths were seen fleeing the park.
The teenage victim ran to an address on Parton Street, Fairfield, and was then taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to his arm and leg. Police have now confirmed the boy has now been discharged from hospital.

Wavertree Botanic Park was full of groups of families and friends enjoying a sunny afternoon when the gunman opened fire. One witness, who was in the park with her partner and young son, told the ECHO she heard "four or five shots", before "armed police turned up".
A cordon was put up by Merseyside Police and forensic officers and a police dog unit searched a grassed area of the park. The force confirmed evidence of gunshots were found.
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said police enquiries are continuing and officers are providing high visibility patrols in the area. At this time there have been no arrests. Merseyside Police is urging anyone with information to come forward to aid the investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Caff Cummings, said: "We fully understand the fears and tragedies gun crime has caused in our communities in the last year, therefore I would appeal to anyone with dashcam footage driving in the area of Wavertree Park, Botanic Road, including Edge Lane and Innovation Boulevard at around 6.30pm yesterday to please contact police as they may have material to support our investigation.
"To fire a gun in a public place is reckless and callous and officers are working to remove such individuals from our streets and put them behind bars. Our investigation is still in the very early stages and will rely heavily on information we receive from the public.
"I urge any residents who live in the surrounding area and have any doorbell or CCTV footage from yesterday evening to please check their systems. If you saw what happened or have any information which could help us, please get in touch so we can bring those responsible to justice."
