Teenager, 19, arrested after scooter rider left fighting for his life in Barnet crash

A teenage driver has been arrested after a man riding a scooter was left fighting for his life in a crash in Barnet.

Police were called at around 7.40pm on November 11 to a collision on Bunns Lane, Edgware.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and found a VW Polo had been in collision with a Yamaha scooter.

The rider, a 28-year-old man, was taken to a north London hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Three teenagers, two 17-year-old boys and a 19-year-old man, were in the car and stopped at the scene.

All three of them were taken to hospital as a precaution.

The 19-year-old man, who had been driving the VW Polo was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was later released on bail pending further enquiries.

Detectives investigating the crash are appealing to witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage of the collision.
