15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi hits record-breaking 11-ball fifty - but misses out on ODI call-up

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was this year's leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League - (Reuters)

Teenage star Vaibhav Sooryavanshi broke the record for the fastest half-century in List A 50-over cricket as he took just 11 balls to reach 50 against Sri Lanka.

The 15-year-old hit five fours, five sixes and played just one dot ball for his 50, in the latest of a string of remarkable performances, and had the chance to equal the fastest-ever century too but fell six runs short.
