A TEENAGER has died and two others are in hospital following an early morning crash in Perthshire.
Police were called to the report of a crash involving a blue Ford Fiesta at around 2.50am on Sunday, September 1, on the B9099 Luncarty to Stanley road, near the junction leading to Gowrie Farm.
The front seat passenger, a 19-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the car, a 21-year-old man, and another 19-year-old woman, who was a backseat passenger, were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee with serious injuries.
The driver was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and enquiries remain ongoing.
Police closed the road to investigate the incident, and it was reopened at around 1.15pm.
Officers are appealing for anyone who may have any information about the incident to come forward.
First Minister John Swinney, who represents Perthshire North, said on Twitter/X: "Terribly sorry to read this news and I extend my sympathy to all those affected."
Sergeant Steve Livesey said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the woman who died and those who have been injured.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and anyone who can assist is asked to get in touch.
“If you were driving near the area at the time and have dash-cam that could assist then please make contact with officers.”
