A teenage girl and her fugitive father have been killed in a shootout with police during a car chase.
Dad Anthony John Graziano, 45, was on the run after murdering his wife, Tracy Martinez, in Fontana, California, in the US, on Monday morning.
An amber warning was issued claiming he was armed and dangerous after he had adducted his daughter 15-year-old Savannah Graziano.
During the shootout, the daughter ran towards San Bernardino County police in tactical gear in Hesperia, California.
Authorities claimed they didn't realise it was the teenage girl as she was wearing a military-style vest and helmet.
The police were shooting at Anthony when she ran towards them and became caught up in the crossfire.
She was shot at and fell to the ground.
It is not known yet whether the gun shots which killed Savannah had been fired by police or her dad in the highway shootout.
San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus believes the teenage girl could have fired some of the shots in the "highly complex" case.
She said: “There may be some indications that the passenger of the vehicle which we believe is Savannah may have been involved in some of the fire exchange.
“There may be some information that the passenger was involved in firing back at the deputies and we’re still trying to confirm that at this point.”
Authorities confirmed Savannah was rushed to hospital but was pronounced dead on her arrival as her fugitive dad was killed in the highway shootout.
Police have said due to the multiple bullets fired it will take "at least 24 hours" to discover all the information.
Anthony had been on the run after reportedly going through a divorce when he shot and killed his wife on Monday.
The fugitive had snatched his daughter in a Nissan Frontier and an amber alert was immediately issued which signalled he was armed and a threat.
Police were able to disable the car as the dad began shooting at the cops out of his car's window.
One officer was injured by the debris.
