A young man was left seriously injured after an early-morning assault in Co Limerick.
The incident happened at around 4.50am on Saturday in Rathkeale.
Gardai and emergency services rushed to the scene and the man, who is in his late teens, was taken to University Hospital Limerick.
He is being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Gardai have launched an investigation into the assault and no one has been arrested in connection with the probe as yet.
They are appealing for anyone with information on the incident to contact them.
A garda spokesperson said: "Gardaí are investigating an assault on a man that occurred at approximately 4:50am on Saturday, 12th February, 2022, in Rathkeale, County Limerick.
"The man (late teens) was taken to University Hospital Limerick with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
"The scene was preserved for technical examination.
"No arrests have been made at this time. Investigations are ongoing.
"Anyone with information is asked to Rathkeale Garda Station on 069 63222, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station."
