A 16-year-old boy working at a sandblasting business has died after being critically injured in an industrial accident.

Emergency services were called to the TLC Surface Treatment warehouse in the Perth suburb of Welshpool about 8am on Thursday.

The injured teenager was rushed to hospital in an ambulance but died a short time later.

WorkSafe and Western Australia's Department of Mines, Industry, Regulation and Safety will investigate the incident.

CFMEU state secretary Mick Buchan said it was the fourth workplace fatality in WA for the month.

"It's another reminder for the government, for WorkSafe, for employers and for employees that enough is enough," he told reporters.

"We need to reset.

"We need to reinvest to look after the safety of every working West Australian."

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
