Passerby tried to save boy struck and killed by truck

A teenage boy has died after being hit by a truck near a school in the Victorian city of Bendigo. (James Ross/AAP PHOTOS)

A good Samaritan desperately tried to save the life of a student hit by a truck at drop-off time but the teenager could not be saved.

The vehicle struck the 15-year-old just after 8.30am on Friday at High Street in Bendigo northwest of Melbourne, local police said.
