A teen slashed another boy with a craft knife during a shocking crime spree earlier this year.
The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, was also found with a carving knife on another occasion and told police he needed it “because a lot of people have beef with me”.
And just weeks after both of those incidents he continued to attack a pensioner in Wirral even after being told he was recovering from cancer.

The 15 year old was locked up at Liverpool Youth Court after being sentenced yesterday. The court heard the boy had a limited criminal record up until earlier this year when he began committing a number of shocking crimes around Wirral.
Then, in March, he approached another boy he knew as he was coming home from sports practice. Wearing a balaclava, he briefly spoke with the victim, who was a year older, about an argument they had had weeks before. He then told the victim he “was getting stabbed” before taking out a craft knife and started slashing at the boy multiple times as the two scuffled. He then fled as neighbours came to stop the fight. The victim was left with wounds to his knee and wrist.
Weeks later, he was found by police with a carving knife after they spotted him lurking near homes with a balaclava on. Asked about why he had the blade, he responded: “A lot of people have a beef with me so the knife’s necessary to protect myself.”
His offending continued into the summer, with an assault on a shop worker before another unprovoked attack on two people in broad daylight. The court heard that on that occasion, in June, the boy walked past a couple as they made their way down the street before he began to attack them, head butting the man.
The woman pleaded with him to stop, saying the man she was walking with was recovering from cancer, but the boy continued. He then attacked her. Luckily, their injuries were minor.
The court heard the boy was remorseful and had been affected by an unstable family situation, which probation workers said had contributed to a lack of maturity and multiple other issues which contributed to his offending.
He was sentenced to two years in a young offenders’ institution after admitting all the offences.
