Teen's killer avoids extra time after prison assault

A woman jailed for the murder of Jason Galleghan, 16, will not serve more time for a prison assault. (PR IMAGE PHOTO)

A judge has decried his inability to issue any meaningful punishment to a woman who bit a prison officer on the arm while awaiting sentence for a teenage boy's murder.

Kayla Dawson instigated the murder of Jason Galleghan, 16, in western Sydney in August 2021 after wrongly suspecting he had stolen her Apple AirPods.
