ORLANDO, Florida — A 15-year-old passenger died Wednesday after falling from a balcony on an MSC Seashore cruise ship returning to Miami, according to news reports.
The boy fell onto a promenade eight decks below at about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Crew-Center.com reported.
“A young man traveling with his family on board MSC Seashore appears to have died of suicide Wednesday evening,” MSC said in a statement. “Our team immediately notified authorities and our care team is assisting the young man’s family on board. All of us at MSC Cruises are heartbroken. The family remains in our thoughts and prayers.”
He fell off a balcony from Deck 16 and landed onto a promenade on Deck 8.
A Miami-Dade police detective responded at 7 a.m. Thursday at PortMiami, Fox News reported.
The cruise was on its way back from a five-night voyage to the Caribbean and Bahamas.
