BAREILLY: A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 22-year-old man, when she had gone to bring fodder for her cattle, in a village in Binawar area of UP's Budaun on Sunday evening.
The girl was found in a semi-conscious state by local farmers who informed her family and the police. The accused was later found hiding in a cane field by police and was booked under section 376 (rape) of IPC along with the Pocso Act. The survivor is a class VII student while the accused is a labourer and lives in the same village.
"We sent the survivor for a medical examination after recording her statement on Monday. The accused was known to her so she was talking to him while collecting fodder but the accused then forcefully took her to a secluded place and violated her. We have sent the accused to jail," SHO Binawar said.
(The victim's identity has not been revealed to protect her privacy as per Supreme Court directives on cases related to sexual assault)
