A teenager walked free from court only a day before he threw lit fireworks at police when violence erupted during protests at the Suites Hotel.
Drug dealer Jared Skeete was fined at Liverpool Crown Court after breaching a community order originally imposed for an offence of possession of cannabis with intent to supply. The following day, he brazenly sniffed ketamine in full view of riot police as he hurled missiles at them and called them "little sausages".
Liverpool Crown Court heard this week that Merseyside Police attended the scene in Kirkby on the evening of Friday, February 10, but officers were forced back towards the premises after objects including glass bottles were thrown towards them. Martyn Walsh, prosecuting, described how this resulted in a police van being left unattended.
