Teen desperate for Champions League ticket after meeting Steven Gerrard and Jurgen Klopp

A 13-year-old boy was “made up” when he bumped into Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and club legend Steven Gerrard two nights before the Champions League final.

Ashton Roberts was on his way back from buying fan merchandise with his mum when they spotted the two enjoying a drink in The Freshfield. The Formby High School student leapt out of the car and went over to get a photo with them.

The photo of Ashton, Gerrard and Klopp went viral on social media and has almost 13,000 likes and 1,000 retweets on Twitter. The teenager chatted with both of them for a few minutes while Jurgen cracked a couple of jokes, according to his mum.

The schoolboy will travel to Paris with dad tomorrow to watch the Champions League final at an official fan park.

Mum Georgina Crook told the ECHO: “I couldn’t believe it because they were so nice. Ashton was made up, singing all the Liverpool songs on the way home.

“Whatever the outcome of tomorrow's result he will never forget the moment. I just hope someone reading this can reach out and give him a ticket for the game!”

Ashton will be one of 60,000 Reds fans expected to make the journey to the French capital by tomorrow. The club are chasing their seventh Champions League trophy and their second in three years.
