Teen attack fallout: petition calls for tougher youth crime legislation

Two girls, aged 11 and 13, have been dealt with under the Young Offenders Act after an attack involving about 30 young people in Newcastle a fortnight ago.

A police investigation into the incident, which occurred between the Newcastle Beach light rail stop and Pacific Street about 2pm on Sunday September 20, is continuing.
