Teen, 19, admits plotting Islamist terror attack targeting British police and military

A teenager who came to the attention of authorities after posting a video on a WhatsApp group has pleaded guilty to plotting an Islamist terror attack.

Matthew King, 19, was alleged to have carried out surveillance at police stations, railway stations, a magistrates’ court and a British Army barracks and was thought to be targeting police officers or military personnel.

King pleaded guilty to preparation of terrorist acts at a hearing at the Old Bailey on Friday.
