Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins thought during his draft experience that he would end up with the Green Bay Packers.
But landing with the Bengals and Joe Burrow? Higgins calls it the “perfection situation.”
Appearing on Mad Dog Sports Radio with Adam Schein, Higgins admitted that on draft night he thought the Packers near the end of the first round were going to make him the pick, but that he couldn’t have asked for a better fallout:
“I thought they were going to draft me in that spot. But they didn’t and I fell to the second round, which I’m ok with. I fell like in a perfect situation with Cincinnati and Joe Burrow. I was like ‘Oh I’m gonna go play with Joe Burrow, he just beat me in a national championship. I know what type of quarterback he is, so I don’t mind going out there and playing with him.'”
Green Bay avoided Higgins, which for the Packers, is one of the biggest what ifs possible given how things have gone for that offense since.
As for Higgins, it’s funny to hear his perspective about how he reacted right away when getting to join Burrow on the Bengals.
As Higgins says in the interview, the team then drafted Ja’Marr Chase the next year and off things went for one of the NFL’s best offenses.
