Cincinnati Bengals wideout Tee Higgins continues to inch closer to a return.
Buy Bengals TicketsHiggins’ injury in the wake of the Super Bowl was something of a mystery for a little while as he popped up in public with his arm in a sling. Turns out he needed his labrum repaired, with a projected return sometime during the summer.
That time appears to be close.
“I feel like I’m closer than expected so it’s up to the training staff at the end of the day but it’s also up to me to tell them how I feel,” Higgins said, via Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer. “I feel amazing so I’m just putting the ball in their hands and we’ll see where we go from there.”
Higgins fought through the injury last year during his spectacular 74 catches for 1,091 yards and six touchdowns, following a similar trajectory as linebacker Logan Wilson, who is also just returning to action right now.
While Higgins has been working the rehab field and will likely eventually do drills, a full return doesn’t mean he’ll see action during the preseason anyway, with the goal being the regular season.
