The latest analyst to chime in on the Jets quarterback search was ESPN’s Tedy Bruschi. And he is pretty adamant that the Jets should go after Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
Bruschi seems to think former Raiders quarterback Derek Carr would be fine, but that the upside is limited to maybe competing for a playoff spot and getting bounced in the Wild Card round. Bruschi also notes Carr’s winless record in cold weather and questions how effective he would actually be in the AFC East and in those cold-weather games late in the season.
Rodgers, on the other hand, in Bruschi’s opinion, is the type of quarterback that can help the Jets take on the big three quarterbacks in the AFC — Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Josh Allen — and help lead the Jets to a championship.
“I don’t care how much darkness there is, I’m gonna wait for Aaron Rodgers,” Bruschi said.
Should the Jets sign Derek Carr or go all-in on trading for Aaron Rodgers?
