A Tyneside engineering specialist is set to create up to 15 jobs after expanding into a new base.
NTG Precision Engineering has tripled its footprint in the move to a new facility on the Team Valley, after making investments in production kit to increase its capabilities and capacity. As well as giving it the space to boost its presence in key markets, the new base will also give NTG capacity to grow over the next five to 10 years and react to commercial opportunities.
It also creates capacity to expand the 72-strong workforce, which includes 10 apprentices, with immediate ambitions to increase its headcount with skilled engineers by 20% percent in the next 12-18 months. The firm has now transferred its machinery and team from its previous premises, and added new machinery which will be used in the manufacture of metal components for industries including automotive, food production, automation and energy generation.
