'Team Scott' Wearside gets behind England star Jill Scott ahead of I'm A Celebrity final tonight

People across Wearside are backing Jill Scott ahead of the I'm a Celebrity final tonight.

Organisations have been taking to social media to wish the England star good luck in the Australian jungle. She has reached the final of the ITV show along with with Hollyoaks actor Owen Warner former Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

Jill, who is from Sunderland, was part of the England women's team which won the Euros earlier this year. The 35-year-old announced she was retiring from football following the tournament in the summer.

She went into I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here, which is hosted by Geordie duo Ant and Dec, at the beginning of November. She was joined by a number of other celebrities including Boy George and Chris Moyles.

Jill is now being billed as a 'certainty' to win I'm A Celebrity. Her odds shortened again with just hours to go until the final on Sunday night. One time favourite Owen Warner now tipped to finish behind Matt Hancock.

Over the weekend, businesses and organisations from Sunderland have wished her good luck on social media. A large road sign has also been put up in the city which says 'GOOD LUCK IN THE JUNGLE JILL SCOTT #IMACELEB'.

Stack Seaburn has organised a live screening of the final on their big screen with Jill's sister and family. They posted on Facebook: "C'mon Jill, you've got this girl - bring home the crown"

The Sunderland Empire posted on social media: "Good luck to our friend Jill Scott - JS8 in the final of I'M A CELEBRITY... GET ME OUT OF HERE! Let’s make Jill Queen of the Jungle by texting 644 2405 or vote via the I’m a Celeb app. *Charges may apply see http://itv.com for info."

The Keel Lounge in Sunderland city centre posted on Facebook: "Good luck Jill Scott for tonight’s I’m a Celebrity Final! The whole city is backing you! Well deserved winner and great ambassador for Sunderland!"

The Blue Bell, based in the Fulwell area of the city, also posted: "We know the World Cups on, but did you know that Jill Scott from Sunderland is in the 'I'm a Celebrity get me out of here' FINAL! Team Scott, Queen of the Jungle!"

Vintage Lily Hair & Beauty, located on Benedict Road in Sunderland, posted: "Good luck in the final Jill Scott"

Amber's Law, based in the city, aims to educate young women on the importance of cervical cancer screening. They posted on Facebook: "Is our very own Sunderland lass, Jill Scott taking home the jungle crown tonight...!!! We certainly hope so, good luck Jill and regardless of the outcome you have done yourself and your city very proud Lots of love AL HQ"

Grace House North East, located in Sunderland, provides support to disabled children, young people and their families. They posted on social media on Saturday: "Good luck to Sunderland Lioness Jill Scott - Jill Scott - JS8 in the I'm A Celebrity final tomorrow from all your friends at Grace House! Ha'way the Lass!"
