JAIPUR: Team Jaipur won the Rajmata Gayatri Devi Memorial Cup polo tournament at Rajasthan Polo Club ground on Sunday. In an exciting summit clash, Team Jaipur edged past Team Delta/Jindal 7-6.
For the triumphant Team Jaipur, Lance Watson notched up 4 goals, while Sawai Padmanabh Singh scored 2 goals. Salim Azmi chipped in with a goal. Devendra Singh was also part of the champion side.
On the other hand, from Team Delta/Jindal, Santiago Marambio and Siddhant Sharma struck 3 goals each. Other players in the team included Akshai Malik and Anirudh Singh Sinsinwar.
Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth AVSM, GOC-in-C, South Western Command, was the chief guest on this occasion. He presented the trophy to the winning team. The title of ‘most valuable player’ went to Salim Azmi from Team Jaipur. Vijit Singh and Ajai Singh were also present on the occasion.
