Taylor Swift's former Beverly Hills home is back on the market, but its history goes far beyond the singer's ownership. The Pillsbury Estate became associated with Swift's work on 1989 before taking on a new creative life under fashion designer Nicolas Bijan, who launched his brand NB44 from the same home office where Swift had worked.
The 1.5-acre Pillsbury Estate is currently listed for $7,995,000 (£6.04 million). The property includes a three-bedroom, 3.5-bathroom main residence and a separate one-bedroom, one-bathroom guesthouse.
It also features mature live oak trees, a pickleball court and a motor court with room for eight vehicles. The estate has been marketed as a secluded property despite its Beverly Hills location. The property also includes manicured gardens, fountains, fire pits, a barbecue area, a detached two-car garage, a separate security room and a half bath.
The estate is being sold by Nicolas Bijan and interior designer Roxy Bijan, who bought it from Swift in an off-market deal in 2018.
Swift's '1989' Era Was Part of the Home's History
Swift purchased the estate in 2011 and went on to write her fifth studio album, 1989, while living at the property. The estate was also featured in her Vogue '73 Questions' interview, giving fans another connection to the house.
When Swift sold the property in 2018, the Los Angeles Times reported that she received $4 million (£3.02 million). She had originally paid just over $3.55 million (£2.68 million) for the home in 2011.
The property then moved from one chapter of Swift's career into a very different chapter under its next owners.
Swift's Former Home Given a New Creative Life
After purchasing the estate, Nicolas and Roxy Bijan undertook extensive renovations. Their redesigned home was later featured in Architectural Digest in 2021, documenting the property's transformation.
The property also became part of their personal history. The couple married there in 2020 after their planned Lake Como wedding was cancelled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They have since welcomed two children.
But the most notable continuation of the home's creative history happened inside one particular room.
Swift's Old Office Became the Launchpad for NB44
When the Bijans moved in, Nicolas discovered a piano in the home office. He said finding it made him think about what had happened in the room and inspired him creatively.
Bijan subsequently launched his fashion brand, NB44, from the same office where Swift had worked.
'You can tell beautiful things have happened here,' Bijan said, adding that he hoped the next person to live there would also feel creatively inspired.
The same home office therefore became associated with creative work by both Swift and Bijan, giving the property a second life beyond its connection to the singer.
One Taylor Swift-Era Detail Still Remains
Despite the renovations, a reported reminder of Swift's time at the estate remains in the garden.
According to Page Six, an olive tree planted by Swift's former boyfriend, DJ Calvin Harris, remains on the property. It now stands among Roxy Bijan's hot-pink roses.
The estate is now back on the market, carrying a history that stretches from Swift's 1989 era to the launch of Bijan's fashion brand.
