My Swiftie status may have wavered after The Life of the Showgirl, but this second episode of The End of an Era on Disney+ is a genuinely moving peek behind the perfect PR curtain to see just who Taylor Swift is. They may have achieved what Lana Wilson couldn’t with the tightly controlled messaging Miss Americana.
Thankfully, the sports metaphors are kept to a minimum here. Although vague tension is implied by the framing of this episode — a coujntdown to Florence Welch’s surprise appearance at Wembley Stadium in August 2024. Not a surprise to Swift, of course, who masterminded their surprise duet of Florida!!! from The Tortured Poets Department.
