The highly anticipated 11th studio album by Taylor Swift, titled 'The Tortured Poets Department,' was released on April 19. The album features 16 tracks showcasing Swift's lyrical prowess and includes collaborations with artists such as Post Malone and Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine.

Swift described the album as an anthology of new works reflecting various emotions and experiences from a specific period in her life. She emphasized the healing power of expressing one's emotions through music and poetry, stating that once the saddest stories are shared, one can find freedom.

Following the album's release, Swift announced the upcoming music video for her collaboration with Post Malone, titled 'Fortnight.' The video was set to premiere at 8 p.m. ET on the same day as the album release.

Swift had teased the album earlier in the year at the 2024 Grammys, where she revealed the release date and began building anticipation by sharing exclusive singles and Easter eggs for her fans, known as Swifties.

Throughout the album's creation, Swift found solace in songwriting, describing it as a lifeline during challenging times. She also curated playlists on Apple Music based on the five stages of heartbreak, each playlist named after a track on the album to give fans insight into the themes of 'The Tortured Poets Department.'

Prior to the album's release, certain search terms were banned on a platform due to reports of a leaked Google Drive file containing the album. Despite the leak, Swifties rallied in support of the artist, urging others not to share or engage with any leaked content.
