Taylor Swift's gestures during the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards were interpreted as signs that she wanted the audience's approval, according to body language expert Inbaal Honigman. Her reading focused on the singer's pauses, hair-touching and responses to applause.

The ceremony took place at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles on 27 September. Swift received the inaugural Artist Director Honors before winning Video of the Year for 'The Fate of Ophelia.'
