Taylor Swift promoters give Ticketmaster update after 'phenomenal' demand

Taylor Swift's promotors have given a Ticketmaster update after receiving a "phenomenal demand" for tickets.

The Blank Space singer announced a number of dates across the UK, including two dates in Liverpool, last month. Today [July 5] she added one extra date to her Liverpool, London, Dublin and Edinburgh shows after having "phenomenal demand".

She also announced she will be joined by legendary American rock band Paramore for all the international dates in 2024.

In a statement posted on Instagram, Taylor said: “Really can’t contain my excitement because … we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour. And I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore!! @yelyahwilliams and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m screaming???”

After the announcement, one of Taylor Swift's promotors, AEG, sent out an email giving an update to people who registered for The Eras Tour ticket sale in the UK. They said the update is "important" and Swifties should "read carefully".

They confirmed only a limited number of registrants will have the opportunity to access the ticket sale and everyone else will be placed on the waitlist. They said due to the demand for these shows, and to ensure the maximum number of fans have the opportunity to access tickets, registrants will be randomly selected for the opportunity to access the ticket sale.

They announced for UK dates, ticket inventory will be split evenly between the official ticket agents Ticketmaster and AXS. If you are selected, you will be randomly assigned a unique non-transferable access code to EITHER Ticketmaster or AXS.

Registrants who are selected to receive a code for the tour ticket sale will have the opportunity to access the sale for the specific city they registered for. Access to sales will be limited to the specific shows that are on sale on a specific day.

People are being told if they receive a code they should read their email carefully to see which exact sales they have access to. All registrants will receive a further email from either Ticketmaster or AXS confirming their selected/waitlist status by 23:59 Friday 14 July.

Successful registrants will be selected at random to receive access codes. If fans are not initially selected, they will be placed on the waiting list to receive a code.

If fans are placed on the waitlist, and any further tickets become available, they may be sent an email to join the sale. Tickets will be sold on a first-come first-served basis while currently available inventory lasts.
