Taylor Swift broke her silence on Joe Alwyn engagement rumours in her new album, Midnights.
The Shake It Off hit-maker referred to reports she is engaged to her beau of six years in the love song Lavender Haze on her 10th studio album.
She opened the track singing: "All they keep asking me... Is if I'm gonna be your bride... The only kinda girl they see... Is a one night or a wife."
Taylor, 32, adds: "I'm damned if I do give a damn what people say... The 1950s s*** they want from me."
Rumours were rife after a source claimed the couple, who have been dating since 2016, had been engaged 'for a few months'.
Earlier in July, an insider claimed Taylor was wearing an engagement ring 'behind closed doors' and only close friends and family were told of the news.
"Taylor and Joe are incredibly happy, and very, very in love," a source claiming to be close to the chart-topping singer told The Sun.
"They've actually been engaged for a few months but have only told their inner-inner circle — basically immediate family, and trusted, very old friends. Everyone has been sworn to secrecy, too."
They said Joe, 31, 'proposed with a beautiful ring' but Taylor 'only wears it when at home'.
When the pair do get married, the insider claims there 'most definitely won't be any magazines there' and it will be a 'simple and elegant' ceremony 'like them'.
Taylor reportedly began her romance with beau Joe just months after her split from Loki actor, Tom Hiddleston, in September 2016.
Speaking of her Lavender Haze track, Taylor admitted she picked the name from TV series Mad Men - which takes place during the 1960s.
"I looked it up because I thought it sounded cool. And it turns out that it's a common phrase used in the '50s, where they would just describe being in love," she said on TikTok.
She added: "We've had to dodge weird rumours, tabloid stuff, and we just ignore it. And so this song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff."
Her love for Joe was also shown on track Sweet Nothing, a song she even got help from her boyfriend to write.
She sings: "I found myself running home to your sweet nothings, I'll take their pushing, shoving. You're in the kitchen humming, all that you ever wanted from me was sweet nothing."
