Taylor Swift And Stevie Nicks Collaborate On New Album Poetry

Taylor Swift Premiere for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour in Los Angeles

Taylor Swift is known for including personal essays or poems in her album packaging, but for her latest release, 'The Tortured Poets Department,' she took a different approach. Stevie Nicks contributed a handwritten poem for Swift, which will be the first thing fans see when they open the LP gatefolds or CD booklets. Swift also penned a long handwritten poem herself, placed after the lyrics in the booklets.

The relationship between Swift and Nicks dates back to 2010 when they performed together at the Grammy Awards. In June 2023, Nicks publicly thanked Swift for a song that helped her through a difficult time. Nicks' poem in Swift's album packaging is dated Aug. 13, 2023, and hints at personal experiences shared between the two artists.

The poem alludes to a past relationship, possibly with Matty Healy of the 1975, who is rumored to be the subject of many songs on the album. Nicks' poem describes a tumultuous relationship where one party is afraid of hurting the other.

Swift's post-lyrics poem, titled 'In Summation,' narrates a journey from the end of one relationship to the beginning of another. It captures the emotions of moving on from a failed romance and finding new love. The poem reflects the album's themes of transition and personal growth.

Swift's words paint a picture of resilience and self-discovery, highlighting the challenges and triumphs of love. She describes the pain of failed relationships and the hope of new beginnings. The poem ends with a declaration of strength and a nod to the theme of love and poetry.
