TAT hosts music festival in the South

In order to welcome back visitors to Thailand and to boost the country's tourism sector, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is hosting Rock On The Beach Music Festival, which will take place from Friday until Sunday in Phuket and 24-26 June in Krabi.

Under the Thailand Festival Experience project to promote the country's soft power, the music festival also aims to generate income for local people as well as to encourage tourists to travel back to the south.

The event will be held under strict Covid-19 preventive measures in which participants are required to present a certificate showing they have received three doses of novel coronavirus vaccines or a negative ATK result within 72 hours.

For line-up or more information, call Phuket TAT office at 076-211-036 or Krabi TAT office 075-622-163.

Banyan Tree offers an 'Escape' to Ubud

Banyan Tree Group announces the official opening of Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape, set in the untouched part of northern Ubud, a town on the Indonesian island of Bali.

Buahan, a Banyan Tree escape, in Bali.

The adults-only Buahan pioneers a "no walls, no doors" concept throughout the property and in each of its 16 balés (villas). At the resort's heart are the Open Kitchen and Living Room, created to evoke a sense of community. Here, guests are invited to learn how the resort reinvents the basics of food and drink through its unique zero-waste farm-to-table concept, local sourcing philosophy and heritage techniques. The menu, 70% of which is plant-based, is sourced locally within a one-hour drive from the property. This concept was developed through a collaboration with Agency X, a local consultant group that houses the acclaimed restaurant Locavore, Nusantara Restaurant, and The Night Rooster Cocktail Bar, to enhance a sense of place.

The Botanist Bar is centred around the use of local-grown natural ingredients and botanicals infused into beverages, while Toja Spa celebrates wellbeing traditions from Buahan village and its surrounding areas, with a unique "open" garden experience -- certified by the award-winning Banyan Tree Spa Academy.
