Tasmania's budget will tackle the housing crisis and cost of living pressures, and deliver soaring net debt and a smaller-than-expected forecast surplus.
Liberal Treasurer Michael Ferguson on Thursday handed down the 2022/23 budget, his first in the role since replacing former premier Peter Gutwein, who quit politics in early April.
He also implored federal Labor to tackle national inflationary pressures and reiterated the state government's position that the GST no-worse-off guarantee be extended.
