If you have been following the designs of Tarun Tahiliani, you would know that the master couturier is a pioneer in creating modern drapes keeping the age-old pattern and embroidery intact. After impressing us all with his plush showcase at Lakme Fashion Week Grand Finale early this year, the designer did the opening show at India Couture Week in Hyatt Regency, New Delhi. Titled The Painterly Dream, his collection included lehengas, saris, sherwanis and bandhgalas. While his collection did look pleasing to the eyes, it missed on novelty. One could see the same sari drapes and blouse details that one has been observing years after years. While Tarun's social media pages have all the dreamy lehengas and saris making it to every celebrity's closet, the one showcased at ICW only gave us a feeling of deja vu.
