A Mexican national who helped the US Justice Department prosecute cartel-linked defendants was deported to Mexico despite an immigration judge's finding that he was likely to be tortured there, according to federal court records.
The man, identified only as John Doe, was removed on 1 August after the government terminated his protection under the Convention Against Torture based on diplomatic assurances from Mexico.
