Developer Excellent Rectangle has released a new Campaign 2.0 update for Tape to Tape, their roguelite hockey game where every decision shapes the path to building a championship team. While some new content is included, most of the update is focused on improving AI behavior and goaltending.
Much of the recent feedback has centered on AI and goalie performance, and the team has acknowledged those concerns. AI improvements include more reliable defensive positioning, varied breakout approaches, better pass reception and puck pursuit, improved formations in three to four player games and fixes to stick recovery logic.
Goaltending received a major overhaul with reworked save calculations, rebalanced attributes, improved positioning and puck tracking, more frequent puck covers, better rebound behavior and added desperation saves.
The official Steam page has the full patch notes along with details on the release timeline (currently on Steam Early Access), including plans to bring the game to consoles.
