Tammy Abraham aims dig at Bodo/Glimt fans after Roma's Europa League victory

Tammy Abraham has taken aim at the Bodo/Glimt fans after his goal helped Roma overcome the Norwegian side.

The Serie A outfit lost the first-leg of their Europa Conference League quarter-final 2-1, but secured a 4-0 win back at the Stadio Olympico. Abraham scored the opener with Nicolo Zainolo going on to bag a hat-trick.

The former Chelsea forward had only been targeted a week earlier when Bodo/Glimt fans threw a snowball at him as he headed for the tunnel, but he has made light of that following Roma's comeback. He posted on social media: "No snowballs in Rome. Semi-finals here we come!!"

Boss Jose Mourinho was also targeted after touching down in Norway last week and refused to meet awaiting fans after one launched a snowball in his direction. The Italian side will now face Leicester City with a place in the final at stake.

Abraham's strike was his 24th of the season which equals a club record set by Rodolfo Volk in 1929-30 in netting so prolifically in his debut season. Only Francesco Totti and Edin Dzeko have surpassed Abraham's total during a season since 2000. The Blues academy graduate was Mourinho's marquee signing in the summer.

The Special One took charge at Roma shortly after his Tottenham dismissal. The Italian club are not in contention for the Serie A title but Mourinho can claim his fifth piece of European silverware and continue adding to his incredible trophy count. He said: "Being in the semi-final is the most important thing, but the way we played from the first minute with high press, intensity, quality playing out from the back, we all felt the game was ours even at 2-0.

"Even after the first leg when we lost 2-1, I always had the sensation we were superior. We are a stronger team, it is frankly unacceptable we only managed to beat this side at the fourth attempt, but it was the most important. It was 2-1 for them, it ended 5-2 for us."

Mourinho has urged Abraham to continue improving despite his impressive goal output. The forward scored in last month's Rome derby win over Lazio, but the Special One stopped short of lavishing praise on the 24-year-old, instead challenging him to get better.

He said: "When you say Abraham is fantastic I disagree, he can do even more. I demand a lot of him because I know his potential, I’m not talking about goals but he must play every game with this attitude.” Mourinho claimed he wanted to take Abraham to the next level when he signed him, with Gareth Southgate set to be a beneficiary ahead of this winter's World Cup in Qatar.
