CHENNAI: After weeks of Covid-19 related uncertainty, Ranji Trophy after its absence in the previous season kicks off across various centers in the country from Thursday. Tamil Nadu will begin their campaign against Delhi at the Barsapara stadium in Guwahati.
Having started the season on a sturdy note in the white-ball formats, Tamil Nadu want to maintain their good run of form in Ranji Trophy as well. "Red-ball cricket is a different ball-game altogether. However, we have the same core group of players across all formats who are aware of the demands of this format. The idea is to score big in the first innings. We are quite confident of putting up a good show in the tournament," Tamil Nadu coach M Venkataramana told TOI on the eve of the match.
