Tamil Nadu: Riding triple on bike costs 2 lives

COIMBATORE: Two youths were killed in a motorcycle accident on Sathyamangalam-Annur Road on Sunday evening. Another youth, who was riding pillion, sustained serious injuries and is battling for his life at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

The deceased were identified as M Krishnasamy, 21, a native of Kurinjipadi in Cuddalore district and Srijith, 25, an autorickshaw driver in Annur. “Krishnasamy was riding the bike with Srijith and Lurthu Sahayaraj, 25, riding pillion. He lost control over the vehicle, which rammed into the wall of a public toilet near the sub-treasury office at Annur around 5.30pm. The trio was thrown off the vehicle and sustained serious head injuries,” a police officer said.

Other motorists took the trio to the Annur Government Hospital, where doctors declared Krishnasamy and Srijith as brought dead.

The Annur police have registered a case.
