CHENNAI: Two days before the urban local body elections in Tamil Nadu, DMK president and chief minister M K Stalin told TOI that his party will record a hat-trick electoral victory. On Tuesday, the ruling party did just that.
It won 947 of the 1,374 wards of the 21 corporations, 2,360 of the 3,843 wards of 138 municipalities and 4,388 of the 7,621 wards of 490 town panchayats. While the party is jubilant over its recapturing of the Chennai Corporation, the victory in Coimbatore could be the jewel in the DMK’s crown.
