Talor Gooch of LIV Golf has secured an invitation to play in the upcoming PGA Championship, marking a significant opportunity for him to compete in a major event this year. The PGA of America is finalizing the field for the championship at Valhalla, with Gooch being one of the players offered an invitation based on his impressive performance in the Saudi-funded LIV Golf league. Gooch's success in winning three LIV events last year and claiming the points list has earned him this coveted spot.
The PGA of America has been open to considering players from various tours worldwide, as highlighted by the recent invitation extended to Joaquin Niemann. Gooch, who previously had limited participation outside of the LIV Golf schedule, has expressed his intention to compete in the PGA Championship following his success in the league.
