Jake Paul has has hit back at people 'talking smack' about Trent Alexander-Arnold after the Liverpool right-back scored a wonderful free-kick in this evening's Champions League clash against Rangers.
Liverpool hosted the Scottish outfit at Anfield for the first time in history, looking to make it consecutive wins in Europe after their late 2-1 win against Ajax in September. Jurgen Klopp 's side have struggled domestically, and Alexander-Arnold has come under intense scrutiny for his part in a string of poor defensive performance, which culminated in last weekend's 3-3 draw against Brighton.
Debate over the 23-year-old intensified with Gareth Southgate's decision to drop him from the matchday squad to face Germany during the international break, but he produced a moment of magic to curl an inch-perfect free-kick into Allan McGregor's top corner just seven minutes in.

Professional boxer and celebrity Reds fan Paul took to twitter after the ball rippled the net, tweeting: "What a beaut!"
He then added: "Lots of people talking smack about Alexander-Arnold this season…but that’s why he’s a killa"
Liverpool dominated the first half with 70% possession and seven shots on target, but were unable to add to Alexander-Arnold's stunner with a second goal. Summer signing Darwin Nunez had several good chances but saw his efforts thwarted by McGregor.
