The UK will enjoy an extra bank holiday in June to celebrate the Queen’s jubilee.
(Picture: POOL/AFP via Getty Images)The lineup for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has been announced to much fanfare online, with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sir Cliff Richard and Bill Bailey getting involved in the biggest celebration of “Britishness” since the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics. The “People’s Pageant” is to begin on Thursday June 2, and see four days of celebrations that will culminate in an emotional finale outside Buckingham Palace on Sunday of the Bank Holiday weekend.
The festivities will kick off with a Trooping the Colour and a flypast on Thursday, followed by a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Catherdal on Friday – with a Platinum Party at the Palace on Saturday likely to be a massive draw for audiences around the world.
