Talking Point: What are your London etiquette bugbears?

From tourists entering the Tube station without being armed with their Oyster cards in hand, causing tailbacks at the barriers, to cyclists riding on the pavement, Londoners have a strict, yet unspoken set of rules that dictate how to behave in the city.

Thankfully, Simon Mills has given us his top 30 London etiquette faux pas and how to avoid them.

Here’s a taste of the type of poor etiquette that may attract some sour looks:

1.     Photographing every course of your meal – keep it hidden and enjoy your company!

2.     Not being a dog person – even if you happen to prefer cats, you must deal with the city’s canine domination with a friendly pat or a “hello there”.

3.     Not rewarding your Deliveroo driver with a generous tip – these can be miserable, cold, underpaid, and thankless jobs.

4.     Standing on the left side of the escalator – keep to the right and let others pass on the left.
