Team Asano, the Square Enix subdivision responsible for beloved JRPG gems like Bravely Default, Dragon Quest, and Octopath Traveler, is asking fans what remake they'd like to see in the future – and, of course, the obvious answer is Chrono Trigger.
At least it is for me – a solid 31 years have passed since the 1995 game first launched – and no, the higher-resolution version released for PC in 2018 does not count as a remake.
I'm not alone in wanting a revamped Chrono Trigger either, with countless threads online begging Square Enix for one… but it feels closer to becoming reality now than ever. Team Asano, who most recently headed the first three Dragon Quest games' HD remakes, could do it.
