Nicola, who is also mum to six-year-old James, is no stranger to awards glory in the beauty industry, having already earned herself three other wins in previous years, including Makeup Artist of the Year 2019 at the Scottish Beauty Industry Awards; Creative Makeup Artist of the Year (SW) 2020 at the Scottish Makeup Awards and Best in Glasgow 2020 at the Scottish Makeup Awards.
The long-awaited 2021 awards were held in the Doubletree by Hilton in the city centre, and showcased salons, technicians, aesthetic clinics, hair and beauty teams and spas.
Speaking about her win, Nicola said: “I am so humbled and honoured to receive such an accolade.
“Our industry really suffered due to the pandemic. To receive a national title after all we have been through and after just having a baby is a real confidence boost.
“It will hopefully inspire others in the industry who have struggled through Covid-19 and all the woman returning to work after having children.
“This will help me to grow my business massively and I am extremely thankful for the award and all the opportunities this will bring.”
Talented Nicola has built her business from the ground up, having left her career as cabin crew in her early 20s to pursue her dream.
Since then, her work has been published in a number of magazines and books, including international art book Striosherra Fables.
And during the pandemic, she set up the Renfrewshire and Worldwide Business Networking and Mentoring Group on social media to support businesses across the globe.
Most recently, she launched her own make-up school and studio in the heart of Paisley and even has plans to host her own radio show, called Vibe, on Paisley Radio.
A spokesperson for The Scottish Hair & Beauty Awards, said: “We are very excited to host the Awards for the tenth time, a lot has changed in the past decade but one thing remains; the talent and dedication our finalists show to their industry.
“The Awards showcased those who promote excellence, set the trends and turn any dream look into reality.
“These specialists inspire others when it comes to the big and competitive world of hair and beauty.
“We would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their achievements and we hope that they will keep up their amazing work.”
