A talented teen country music singer is set to appear in front of millions of viewers of RTE’s Late Late Toy Show on Friday night.
Caillín McDonald, from Creggan, better known as Caillín Joe, was chosen from more than 7,000 applicants to appear on the popular Christmas toy show hosted by Ryan Tubridy.
Dean Maguirc College student Caillín, 14, says it is a dream come true for him to appear on the same programme he has watched since his early childhood.

“I went to a few auditions and I only got the word there about two weeks ago that I was going to be on,” Caillín told Belfast Live.
“My whole life I’ve sat down and watched the Toy Show with my brothers and sisters and we’ve always enjoyed it.
“My granny was always watching it as well and had always asked me to apply to try and get on to it.
“Here I am today and I’m still trying to process that I’m going to be on it, I’m just so overwhelmed.
“It’s a massive dream for me but there’s a lot of work that went in to it as well.
“Around 7,500 applied to be on the show so to be in that small group that actually made it is a dream come true.
The talented Co Tyrone teen added he was blown away by the messages of support he has received from family, friends and fans ahead of his appearance.
“It’s the biggest TV show on the island of Ireland and it’s just a great achievement for me.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has sent me good luck messages, it’s unreal the amount of people that have got in touch.”
