Talented Bellshill teen 'beyond excited' to make his TRNSMT debut

A teenage Lanarkshire musician will be one of the youngest acts to play Scotland's biggest music festival when he takes to the stage at TRNSMT next month.

Connor Fyfe, 15, has been playing the guitar since he was eight and has already made a massive name for himself on the Scottish music scene.

He released his debut album Don't in March 2020 and has continued releasing singles and playing gigs whenever he can.

But the Bellshill lad's biggest gig to date will be when he takes to The River Stage at TRNSMT.

And all eyes will be on Connor, as he will be the youngest act to play the festival this year. He insists he is ready, with a band behind him and a huge back catalogue of popular songs.

Connor told Lanarkshire Live: "It is so cool to be asked to play the festival. I'm really buzzing.

"I already had a three-day ticket when they asked me, so I was going to be there anyway. The headliners of Paolo, The Strokes and Lewis Capaldi are too good not to go and see.

"But to see my name on that line-up is just mental.

"A lot of my school friends are going to come down and see me. Like me, they were going to the festival before I was announced too.

"I've been once before in 2019 and it was just such a fun place. I am playing on a stage I have never been to either, so it will be a whole new experience for me."

Connor will take to the stage at 5:10pm on Sunday, July 10, and has said that fans can expect a mix of both old and new numbers.

And he is hoping for good weather to close out the weekend festival.

He added: "Sunshine would just make the set so much better for everyone.

"My new music with the band behind me is really summery and good weather will just make them so much better.

"Right now I am so excited for it, I'm sure I will get a bit nervous in the days leading up to it but for now I am just buzzing to get out and play."
